London: Bradbury, Evans & Co., [1864]. 12mo., embossed green cloth, stamped in gilt, all edges gilt, hand-colored frontispiece of an azalea. Eighth Edition. Signed presentation from Gordon Langley Hall on the front pastedown: "Mrs. Belle hayes- A present from England 1956. Gordon Langley Hall." Hall- an American author and playwright- also encloses a typed letter signed on personal stationery, dated Sept. 9, 1956, forwarding the book. He also discusses his garden his two tortoises and invited the recipient to tea. Very Good (bright, ink name front endpaper).
