Signed presentation from De Meissner on the front endpaper: "Souvenir of old Morristown. To R. Admiral Wm. Alexander Duer. Compliments of Sophie Radford de Meissner, June 26th, 1928." Duer has added a notation beneath the presentation after putting an asterisk next to R. Admiral: "O very great error!! Seeing that I was not 23 years of age when I left the service with the rank of ensign, which was the highest attained by me. WAD." Good (some edgewear, front hinge cracked but still tight, front cover fairly bright).
