With the ink signature of "Pringle of Crichton" on the title page and the "Haining Library" plate on the front pastedown. According to J.G. Lockhart's "Life Of Scott," Pringle of Crichton killed William Scott, great grand-uncle of Sir Walter Scott, in a duel on a field near Selkirk in 1707. Good (binding worn but text nice, covers reattached).
