1906 YOUNG, Stark. GUENEVERE. A Play In Five Acts. NY: The Grafton Press, 1906. Small 8vo., green cloth, stamped in gilt. First Edition. Author's first book. Signed presentation from Young on the front endpaper: "For Bert Sanger from his friend Stark Young." Also laid in is a typed letter signed from Young to Sanger, dated Amherst College, April 5, 1921, in which Young writes in part "I am giving up teaching to try my hand at writing and shall live in New York next year, so it is wonderful to have both a friend and a doctor waiting for me. I am afraid though that while I remain a friend I shall be only a charity patient, for I will be making about a dollar a month with my pen." Also laid in is a two-page autograph letter signed by Young from The University of Texas at Austin, 1915, and also to Sanger-discussing a review and sending his personal regards. Very Good (Sanger's personal bookplate on front endpaper and with a photograph of a monk sitting near some pillars tipped to the front pastedown).
