B&w copper engraving, vg+ condition. Antarctic hemispheric projection south of 33? South. No land mass shown at the Pole with tracks of Cook's ship Resolution circumnavigating the Pole between the years 1772-1775 and crossing the Antarctic Circle on 3 occasions. Also noted is field ice south of 70? (now the Walgreen Coast between Amundsen Sea and Bellinghausen Sea). 1st publication of Cook's route appearing just over a year before the official map.
