FERBER, Edna (1887-1968)

Author, novelist, screenplay writer; two time Pulitzer Prize winner. Warm A.L.S. to Clifton Webb, the Hollywood actor, expressing her sympathy on the death of his wife. 2 pages, small 8vo, on personal stationery. New York, Dec. 6, 1960.

1960 Signed in full: "Just this week, Clifton dear, Noël told me about Mabel. . . I think I know something of the difficult adjustment you must be experiencing now. You'll make it, though, because of the gay, rich, rewarding life you gave Mabel. She went everywhere, knew everyone, did every pleasant thing--all through your efforts. That's all you need to remember now. And it's good." With original envelope.
