Sacketts Harbor, NY, Sept. 27, 1882. unbound very good "...I wrote you a note which I hope reached you safely from Prescott to Grant or Milbery, appreciative of your valuable service in Arizona & your loyalty to me. I think if your friend Carr had pursued a similar career to that followed by yourself, Shafter & Evans, he would have come out much better...Sherman, who has been here to see us, says he intends to relieve the 10th by the 21st next summer & to keep two Infantry regiments East if possible..."
