JAZZ -- Cozy Cole
Legendary jazz drummer of the '40s and '50s. Rare promotional record for a single on the Lover Records label. The original 8 1/2" x 7 1/2" envelope mailer gives the title as "Topsy" (while the record itself says "Turvy I" b/w "Turvy II"), and is imprinted "From New York's famous Metropole Cafe." A relic from the days of "payola," when radio DJs were paid outright for playing records on the air. New York, ca. 1955.
Boldly signed "Most Sincerely, Cozy Cole" on the envelope mailer.
