Bromley-Davenport

W. Sport

London: Chapman and Hall. 1885 8vo, 1/4 leather over marble paper boards, gilt titles. Some foxing, but a nice copy. First edition of this classic, covering fox-hunting, covert-shooting, salmon fishing and deer-stalking. The salmon chapter takes place in Norway and is an early description (apart from Tolfrey) of sport there. Interesting illustraions by Lt. Gen. H. H. Crealocke (who wrote several fine works himself.) Laid into the front of this copy is a long poem on the chase written by Bromley-Davenport and published in The Field, Dec. 7, 1895.
