Full crimson French levant morocco, richly gilt tooled back, sumptuous gilt framework on sides, wide inside gilt borders, gilt edges, a.e.g. bound by Zaensdorf, in the manner of Roger Payne. Gilt seal of binder on inner paste-down leaf. Illustrated with 21(of 24) hand colored designs by Thomas Rowlandson. A fine copy. The rare first edition with the Rowlandson illustrations, in a most beautiful specimen of binding by this celebrated English binder, probably executed for exhibition purposes.
