Lieut. Col. A. J. O. Pollock

Sporting Days in Southern India, Being Reminscences of Twenty Trips in Pursuit of Big Game, Chiefly in the Madras Presidency

London. Horace Cox 1894 Sm. 4to, original publishers’ cloth, gilt titles and gilt and white decorations. First edition. An early classic in the Indian game genre. In addition to tigers, extensive sections on bear hunting, Indian bison, elephant, and deer. Tales of man eaters laced with advice to hunters. Black and white illustrations. Some dampstaining and a few wormholes; not at all unusual considering that this copy belonged to the “Chief of Kagal” out in the colonies.
