Paris: Coustelier 1745 8vo. Contemporary calf, spine richly gilt, black label, boards with ornamental lines in gold, edges gilt. Title page in red and black, 4 leaves, engraved title by B. Audran after A. Coypel, engraved plates by B. Audran after Phillipe de Orleans. Nice copy with wide margins and clean, decorative binding only slightly rubbed. A fine copy. Reprint of the first edition of 1718 with slightly different pagination. The illustration of Conte Philipp de Orleans for the ‘Regence’ period. The engraved title-page was not changed and still has the year 1718. In many copies the printed title page and the first blank leaf have been removed, so that it appeared to be the first edition. “Aussi a-t-on cherché å faire passer cetter reimpression pour l’edition original...” (Cohen/R.).- Cohen/R. 652; Sander 1223
