Venetia 1554 8vo. 3/4 brown calf, black label on spine. Printed with woodcut initials and illustrations. Binding somewaht worn but solid, outer signatures stressed, some inscriptions on colophon etc., a good copy overall. An early edition of an Italian classic which is said to have been a great influence on Shakespeare, Milton and Byron. The story is based on Roland, a hero of Medieval French literature.
