Norr, to whom my obligations for wise counsel, in more than one field, are great. J.G. Harbord Major General, USA, Retired New York City, July 28, 1932." General Harbord served as Chief of Staff to Pershing, as commander of the Marine Brigade at Château Thierry, as Commander of the Second Division in the Soissons Offensive, and as commander of the Service of Supply.
