Sare, et al, 1692 Sir Roger L'Estrange (1616-1704), a Tory journalist and pamphleteer, was a prolific writer and translator, as well as being surveyor of printing presses and licenser of the press under Charles II and James II. His translation of Aesop was extremely popular; subsequent editions appeared in 1694, 1699, 1704, 1712, 1724, and in other editions down to the present day First L’Estrange Edition. Folio.
