Buchbeschreibung
16 pp. 8vo, orig. blue wrappers (first two leaves with an unimportant marginal stain), stitched as issued, uncut. Paris: L.G. Michaud & l'Auteur, 1816. First edition and quite scarce. Ricci, son of the prominent Italian dentist Giovanni Battista, established himself in Paris and maintained a very successful practice, specializing in the making and securing of artificial teeth. He developed a device -- a "tenon des antennes" made of swelling cork -- to fasten the post of the prostheses to the enlarged root canal. It is described in the present work. Fine copy. Crowley, Dental Bibliography, 889. Hoffmann-Axthelm, History of Dentistry, pp. 256 & 271-72. Poletti, De Re Dentaria apud Veteres, p. 164.
