[Drop-title]: An Retina primarium visionis instrumentum 7 pp. Large 4to, disbound. [Paris: Quillau,1770]. First edition of Roussille's thesis on the role and importance of the retina in vision. There are references to Newton, Mariotte, and Saint-Yves. Roussille (1750-?), was a physician in Napoleon's army and later had a practice in Paris. He wrote a number of articles in the Mémoires of the Paris Royal Society of Medicine. Fine. Hirsch, IV, p. 899.
