First edition of an important work in the history of meteorology; this is a splendid copy in original state. In this book, Saussure (1740-99), describes his hygrometer, an instrument which measures humidity; outlines the general principles of hygrometry as a science; and deals with evaporation and the applications of his researches to meteorology.
