First edition of this handsomely illustrated account of the travels of Schrank (1747-1835), professor of botany at Munich and first director of the botanical garden of that University and Moll (1760-1838), scientist, collector of books, and Vice-President of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences. This delightful work describes in a series of letters their journey during which they provided full and careful descriptions of the flora, fauna, agriculture, local industries and customs, etc. Pages 155-323 in Vol. II contain a valuable Flora Berchtesgadensis.
