Leipzig & Königsberg: J.J. Kanter, 1772. First edition of this rare account of the mining and iron and steel making activities of Eisenerz, an old mining town in Styria, Austria. The iron ore quarried there is particularly rich and the town owes its prosperity to this fact. Pages 25-138 contain "Mineralogischer Versuch über die Eisensteine des Arzberges in Obersteyermark, nebst beygefügter Beschreibung der Eisenerzstufen des Gräzischen Naturalien-Kabinets" by Nicolaus Poda von Neuhaus (1723-98), a Jesuit, professor of mathematics and physics at Graz, and also professor of mining technology and subterranean surveying at the famous mining academy at Chemnitz.
