Carlsruhe: Macklots, 1805. First edition and very rare with no copy in OCLC. The author, a professor at the Electoral lyceum of Baden, has provided a history of Baden-Baden since Roman times and a very full description of the town and the 29 hot springs. During the 19th century, Baden-Baden became a very fashionable watering place with beautiful gardens and pleasure grounds. The frontispiece depicts the main bathing establishment and the map depicts the area surrounding Baden-Baden. Fine and attractive copy.
