Zückert (1737-78), was a physician at Berlin and the author of many books on medicine, balneology, and geology. This work comprehensively describes the natural history -- with special emphasis on the geology and mineral riches -- of the upper region of the Harz mountains. The book has considerable interest for the descriptions of the iron- and copper-mines, the marble quarries, and the mineralogy of the region. Fine copy in original state. Scarce.
