Deshais-Gendron (fl. 1770), became the first professor of ophthalmology when he was named demonstrator of ophthalmology at the École de Chirurgie in Paris. His textbook published in 1770 served as a standard authority for nearly thirty years. The present work is concerned with the adverse effects of cosmetics on the eyes. Fine copy.
