Original grey, printed card covers. Front and rear hinges neatly reinforced with cloth tape, else contents very good and clean. Signature of Alexander Fraser, first Ontario Provincial Archivist, at head of front cover. Covers very lightly soiled, small stain to fore-edge not affecting text. Otherwise, a very good copy. Besides recipes, it includes such things as: cooking methods and utensils used in cooking and gathering, social customs, methods of fire-making, cookery and eating customs, harvesting and storage, various ceremonies, protection of crops, divination, planting customs and beliefs, weather-lore, etc.
