Octavo (23 cm x 15 cm), pp. xii, 252 + 28 blank pages intended for reader notes, unopened copy. Frontispiece photo of Galsworthy, and an unpublished, hand-coloured cartoon of him in collotype by Max Beerbohm entitled: "Breezy Jack of Biarritz" with the caption: "Seen 'The Times' this morning? That's the stuff to give 'em what? Shall give 'em some more, by Jove. Cheery-o! Right-o! For J.G. from Max - But why be breezy at Biarritz, when you might be roisterous at Rapallo?", captioned tissue guards; Gilt-stamped, salmon-coloured buckram, bevelled edges, top edge gilt, others deckled. Slight fading to the spine and bevelled edges, minor bubbling to the cloth, very gentle rubbing to the tips, else a fine, clean unopened copy, uncommon in the scarce, price-intact dust jacket. Jacket chipped at spine ends and tips, spine sunned, else very good. (Loosely inserted is the 'New York Times Book Review' from March 10, 1929.)
