Full polished calf, upper and lower covers framed in gilt and blind tooling, centre of covers contain gilt-stamped armorial crest of George Granville-Leveson-Gower (1758-1833), 2nd Marquess of Stafford and 1st Duke of Sutherland, ornate gilt and panelled spine with 5 raised bands, gilt-stamped black morocco spine label, marbled edges and endpapers, gilt dentelles, ribbon bookmark. Covers lightly scuffed, joints rubbed, light foxing to blank endpapers only, else interior crisp and clean. Handsome copy from the Marquess of Stafford's library.
