Sheet 24 (Mostly Wiltshire). Engraved at the Drawing Room in the Tower under the Direction of Col. Mudge by Benjn. Baker & Assistants. The Writing by Ebenr. Bourne.

(London], 14th August 1817. 119.5 x 147.5 cm. (segmented and backed with linen, folded to 38 x 31 cm.), 1" to 1 mile. A beautiful map (almost a bird's eye view) in very good condition. Includes Bristol and Bath in the West, Swindon, Cirencester and Chisbury Camp in the East. W illiam Mudge, 1762-1820, a first rate mathematician and administrator, became director of the Survey in 1798.
