Lacks 1 tipped-in frontis. (# 27). Many covers soiled and scuffed, a few loose, contents very good. Very good run of this interesting but scarce trade magazine; a compilation of printing tips, advice, homilies, jokes, poems, anecdotes and, of course, advertisements for the Company's inks; with covers and frontispieces by Stanley Turner (incldg. Red Parlour, Queen's Hotel, Tor.), A.Y. Jackson, Frederick Coates, Paul Caron (Old toy maker, Boursecours Mkt. and Our Lady of Bousecours, Montreal), George Gonder interpreting West Coast Indian design and with frontis. & covers and cartoon by young Toronto artist Audrey Liversedge. Frontis. portrait of the editor in no. 50 with notice of his illness and retirement. The firm was founded in 1880.
