Limited Editions Club New York (1949) Six large octavo volumes (6-1/2" x 10-1/2") bound in half blue buckram stamped with aluminum leaf and decorated paper boards. This marks the firstpublication of all 168 stories by Andersen, not simply his better known fairy tales, all translated by Jean Hersholt. Copy #380 of 1500 illustratedby Fritz Kredel with each of Kredel's 231 drawings colored by hand through stencils. SIGNED by both the translator and the illustrator on the colophon page. Fine set, lacking the slipcase.
