First published in 1765, this work marked "an epoch in the history of English literature. It promoted with lasting effect the revival of interest" in early English ballads and poetry. DNB XV: 883. Large margins, handsomely printed and beautifully bound, with gilt crests and floral designs on spines. Fine condition.
