Covers a little soiled and chipped with tape residue at cover edges along spine; spine gone. "Four short essays, very readable pieces of fancy... [including] a scheme for providing readers for neglected books... [&] what happens when a contractor has carted away the bones from a disused cemetery but fails to cart away the souls... [&] the 'Faritocians' (talk and nothing but talk)... & ... the peculiar character of the Royal Burgh of Musselton," (Madan 47.) The colophon wittily portrays Daniel in the Lion's Den.
