The Gold-fields of Australasia.
Macmillan, London, 1898. Octavo, illustrations; text volume and folder of maps in publisher's red buckram, gilt; in fine condition. First edition: an attractive author's presentation copy of a rare and desirable goldfields work. Schmeisser, a German geologist, visited Australasia in 1895 to report on the goldfields and was employed by the London and Western Australian Investment Company. His subsequent publications - first Berlin, 1897 - and this work, are the result of twelve months on-the-spot research, and are considered to be among the most comprehensive studies of the goldfields done in the nineteenth century. The separate portfolio contains thirteen folding lithographic charts and plans.

All items are guaranteed as described. If an item is not as described, it is returnable within seven days of receipt, unless other arrangements are made. Full refunds are given only when items are received in the same condition in which they were sent.
