Narrative of Shipwreck of the "Admella"...
J.H. Moulines and Co., Melbourne, 1859. Octavo, frontispiece and folding map; spotted throughout, and spine sunned, but a good copy in original plum cloth, gilt vignette on upper board. Rare shipwreck account: 'The Admella proceeding from Port Adelaide to Melbourne, struck a reef near Cape Northumberland, August 6, 1859. Of the crew and passengers numbering 113, only 24 were saved. Their rescue after 6 awful days and nights upon a portion of the vessel, was accomplished by deed of extreme heroism' (Ferguson).
Adam Lindsay Gordon wrote a poem in commemoration of the tragedy.
