First English edition, preceded by a New York piracy of the unfinished novel as it appeared in the Fortnightly Review from September to December 1884, where it ended with the abrupt note: 'Thus was the erratic woman stricken; and those who care for more of Diana of the Crossways will find it in the extended chronicle'. The work explores the financial and emotional problems of a talented woman novelist.
With the bookplate of Rafe Carvalho.

All items are guaranteed as described. If an item is not as described, it is returnable within seven days of receipt, unless other arrangements are made. Full refunds are given only when items are received in the same condition in which they were sent.
