That Heathen Chinee in Australia...
Henry Franks, Geelong, 1877. Duodecimo, three works issued together in this form, 72 + 24 + 34 pp.,one plate; a good copy in the original stiffened blue wrappers, front wrapper titled and illustrated but rather rubbed, spine neatly renewed. Rare collection of poems: a Victorian goldfields anthology. Head's poetry, whilst not scaling great literary heights, is valuable for its first-hand insights into the diggings.
This is the first edition of Heathen Chinee, and includes the first printing of King Jerry and a reprint of Under a Cloud, which had been separately published in 1872. The original binding here demonstrates that the volume was issued in this form: Serle described a copy that corresponds to the make-up of this volume but was not sure that it constituted a publication in that form.

All items are guaranteed as described. If an item is not as described, it is returnable within seven days of receipt, unless other arrangements are made. Full refunds are given only when items are received in the same condition in which they were sent.
