Cantabrigiae, Joannes Smith. 1829. First edition. Later full morocco, all edges gilt, giltdentelles. 8vo. pp. 41. Thomson 2. Tennyson's poem "Timbuctoo" is included in this collection of five prize-winning works of the year 1829. It was the first poem written in blank verse to win the Chancellor's Medal. Tennyson never reprinted the work. Book-plate of Jacobus Bromley. Spine rubbed at head and foot, otherwise a fine copy.
