Contemporary full polished bevelled blue calf, raised bands with blind-stamped decorative design, all edges gilt. 8vo. pp. xxiv. 93. xiv. 94. Wise 1153. William Ward was a pupil of Ruskin's, first meeting him at a drawing class at the Working Men's College where Ruskin taught. He admired and was strongly influenced by Ruskin all his life. There are one hundred and seven letters written between February 1855 and March 1886. The frontispiece is a facsimile of a letter written by Ruskin to Ward. Spine slightly darkened.
