Loosely inserted is a one page ALS from Monkhouse to John Lane, dated 2nd January 1891, reading in part: "Many thanks for all your exertions on my behalf. I have written to Mathews to send you a copy for Lehmann. I am glad Fullerton did it himself. I will back up Arthur Symons." Lane has also annotated the letter with a list of names in pencil including those of (Arthur?) Lynch, Meredith, Nesbit and Radford. 2 pp. advertisements dated April, 1890. An early Bodley Head production. Covers soiled.
