Josepha Heath Gulston was a talented artist and novelist (writing five books under the pseudonym Talbot Gwynne) from Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire. The Goblin of the story "was in form as a small and dwarfish man, but his head was as that of a cat." Frontispiece and five illustrations, drawn and lithographed by the author, pagination of the illustrations corresponds to the relevant page in the text. An unusual privately printed item in very fine condition.
