Almack's Revisited.

A re-issue in the year of publication of a novel published under the title "Herbert Milton" but which was originally to be called "Almack's". As the author explains in a note the publication of another novel with that name forced the title change on him. For the re-issue he reverted to a variant of the original title and no doubt benefited from association with the successful "Almack's". The novel itself is of the silver-fork variety. Contemporary armorial book-plates of O'Neal Segrave. Spines faded and a little rubbed, one spine worn at head.
