[BLUNT.]. TYRELL (George).

Versions and Perversions of Heine and Others.

London, Elkin Mathews. 1909 First edition. Original boards, cloth spine. 12mo. pp. [4], 64. Nelson 1909.27. Inscribed by the book's dedicatee, W.S. Blunt, to Sir Emery Walker, dated March 27th 1910. Father Tyrell and Blunt, a fervent non-believer, enjoyed a surprisingly close friendship, Tyrell considering that Blunt's book "Satan Absolved" was a real discovery concerning man's position in society. When Tyrell's book, a collection of adaptions of Heine, other German poets and the Italian Francesco dall'Ongaro, was published posthumously Blunt was delighted to discover that it was dedicated to him. A fine copy.
