Bentivoglio, Cardinal Guido

Della guerra di Fiandra, 1 & 3 (lacking vol. 2).

Colonia 1635–40, contemporary vellum, ownership inscription of Gustaf Bielke (b. 1618) dated Leiden1640 on title to volume one, with the red morocco labels which were pasted on the spine of Queen Christina’s books during her stay in Paris in 1656–58 (see Sten G. Lindberg, “Queen Christina Bindings”, Queen Christina of Sweden (1966), pp. 219 ff.), including the distinctive label lettered ‘Ad Usum Reginae’, and the shelf marks J. 6. 41 & J. 6. 43 in ink, which indicate the location of these books in Christina’s library in Rome.
