Title printed in red & black. Engraved vignettes & historiated initials. Contemporary full vellum, some light browning. Malabar Rites Controversy. First edition. A defence of the decree in 1704 by the papal legate Charles de Tournon forbidding the ‘Malabar Rites’. This decree had been confirmed by Pope Benedict XIII in 1727.
