Seoul, early 19th-century. Sewn as issued, original wrappers; some worming to wrappers and a few text leaves, affecting a few characters. Royal presentation copy, with the seal of the Royal Library, Seoul, Kyujang-gak, and a presentation inscription in ink on front paste-down of volume one “Kyujang-ji po” (a treasure from Kyujang-gak). Meticulously executed xylographic facsimile of the 1797 edition, which was published by order of King Chongjo Chõngjo and printed with the text in large characters carved on woodblocks, with Tso’s commentaries and the later annotations set, respectively, in the two sizes of the Kabinja type cast in 1777.
