Mexico City Padre Cobos 1875, First Edition No Jacket Quarter Leather Good 8vo., 270pp. Frontispiece. Illustrated text. In spine bound in dark brown calf, with gilt letteres; Red cloth boards. The boards and spine are worn evenly at corners, and the text block paper has yellowed with age, but the text is clean and tight, without marks. This copy has been graciously inscribed in 1884 by Francisco Margain, of Monterrey.

About Us

The owner, Richard Murian, has a BA in History from the University of California Davis; a MLS from the University of California, Berkeley; a Masters of Divinity from Trinity in Biblical Studies and a MA from California State University, Sacramento in the History of the American West. My further graduate studies were in Renaissance and Reformation studies with an emphasis on Italian humanism. My bookselling career began in 1970 under my own name but chose the name Alcuin Books in 1979 a name that has reflected my interest and philosophy. I have had open stores in Phoenix and since 2003 we have been in Scottsdale, Arizona.
