A very good copy of the first major work dealing with early India, Iran (16th to 18th centuries) in terms of Pinagn Island (Pinang). Translators have been identified as L.M. La ngles and F.J. NOEL [see Dictionnaire des ouvrages anonymes, t. 4, p. 1097]. Other entries: 'Abd-al-Karim ibn Aikbat ibn Muhammad Bulaki, al-Kashmiri (Voyage de l'Inde a la Mekke); Francklin, William, 1763-1839. Observations made on a tour from Bengal to Persia. Forrest, Thomas, 1729?-1802?, Voyage from Calcutta to the Mergui Archipelago. A very good copy in contemporary tree calf binding. Top outer joint tender, some small warping at outer boards; marbled edges.

About Us
The owner, Richard Murian, has a BA in History from the University of California Davis; a MLS from the University of California, Berkeley; a Masters of Divinity from Trinity in Biblical Studies and a MA from California State University, Sacramento in the History of the American West. My further graduate studies were in Renaissance and Reformation studies with an emphasis on Italian humanism. My bookselling career began in 1970 under my own name but chose the name Alcuin Books in 1979 a name that has reflected my interest and philosophy.
