Colonia Pietro Martello 1792, Re-issue No Jacket Leather Near Fine Italian text. 4to., x, 318, (6)pp. The famous counterfiet issued by Bartolini in Florence. Cellini's autobiography is a major text of the Renaissance, and an important note of its time on art history. Bound in black leather, with gilt border trim. Spine with 5 raised double-bands, gilt lined, with gilt title letters and gilt devices in windows. The interior is quite clean, without marks or stains, excpt for pencil marks on paste downs. The exterior has moderate wear on corners and spine. A very scarce item: Only 2 found on OCLC search.

The owner, Richard Murian, has a BA in History from the University of California Davis; a MLS from the University of California, Berkeley; a Masters of Divinity from Trinity in Biblical Studies and a MA from California State University, Sacramento in the History of the American West. My further graduate studies were in Renaissance and Reformation studies with an emphasis on Italian humanism. My bookselling career began in 1970 under my own name but chose the name Alcuin Books in 1979 a name that has reflected my interest and philosophy. I have had open stores in Phoenix and since 2003 we have been in Scottsdale, Arizona.
