Berlin: Dade, 1837 Half Calf. Good+/No Jacket. First Edition. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Text in German. 4to., 192pp. Frontispiece. A thorough treatise of Napoleon's Egypt campaign and subsequent occupation. With numerous maps. The text blosck is clean and tight, with moderate darkening to some pages, not affecting the text. Outer marbled boards are have rubbing, shelf wear to edges, and bumped corners. The gilt-stamped spine has three raised band, with gilt borders and herald devices. The spine is moderately worn, with a 1/2" tear at the foot.

The owner, Richard Murian, has a BA in History from the University of California Davis; a MLS from the University of California, Berkeley; a Masters of Divinity from Trinity in Biblical Studies and a MA from California State University, Sacramento in the History of the American West. My further graduate studies were in Renaissance and Reformation studies with an emphasis on Italian humanism. My bookselling career began in 1970 under my own name but chose the name Alcuin Books in 1979 a name that has reflected my interest and philosophy. I have had open stores in Phoenix and since 2003 we have been in Scottsdale, Arizona.
