Second edition, corrected and enlarged by Faustinus Gavinellus. With 19 full page engraved plates. Additions and commentaries from page 111, in two columns, latin and italian text. Marcel Malpighi (1628-1694), italian physiologist, one of the first to apply the microscope to the study of animal and vegetable structure. His discoveries were so important that he may be considered to be the founder of microscopic anatomy. Very good copy. Brunet, III, 1347.
