All gilt edges. Third edition of the well known work. The maps done by Barbie de Bocage, except one from D'Anville, some of them outline coloured. "It is difficult to overestimate the importance of Anacharsis in the development of French neoclassicism and in the creation of philhellenic sentiment" (Blackman). The folding plate "Plan du Combat de Salamine" with a three centimeter's missing in the left side of the plate. Atlas: inner margin brownished and below the first margin, but a nice set.
